3LPE Coated Pipe
3LPE Coated Steel Pipe Means That The Coating Of The Steel Pipe Has Three Layers, Which Are Polyethylene Or Polypropylene Outer Surface, Adhesive, And Fbe Inner Coating.
Because We Need To Use Polyethylene Or Polypropylene To Wrap The Surface Of The Steel Pipe In The Last Step, 3lpe Coated Steel Pipe Can Only Be Applied To The Outer Surface Of The Steel Pipe.
It Has Excellent Performance In The Choice Of External Corrosion Protection For Steel Pipes.
Balingsteel Can Provide You With High-Quality 3lpe Coated Steel Pipes According To Your Project Requirements In Accordance With ISO 21809-3, DIN 30670, and NACE SP0394.

3LPE Coated Pipe Meaning
3LPE Coated Pipe Means That There Are Three Layers on the Surface of the Pipe:
- Layer 1 Comprises a Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder and a Solvent-Free Liquid Epoxy Coating. It Is Applied to the Surface of the Steel Pipe After Sandblasting and Descaling (FBE>100um).
- Layer 2 Is an Adhesive, That Requires Specific Excellent Adhesive Properties and Serves to Connect the Bottom Layer ( FBE) with the Outer Protective Layer (PE), (AD: 170-250um).
- Layer 3 Is the Polyethylene Layer (PE), Which Has Excellent Wrapping and Protective Properties. (PE 1.8 to 3.7mm).
The 3LPE Coating Is Formed by Combining These Three Layers, And if the 3-Layer Material Is Replaced with Pp Material, The 3LPP Coating Will Be Formed. Balingsteel Has 25 Years of Experience in 3LPE&3LPP coating; Please Feel Free to Contact Us for More Information.

- Polyethylene Layer (PE)
3LPE Coating Process
-
Preheat:
Pre-Heating Treatment Heats the Steel Pipe to 55~85℃ to Remove the Impurities on the Surface of the Steel Pipe.
-
Blast Clean:
Remove Surface Impurities and Oil Contamination.
-
Grind Surface Defects:
Carry out Detailed Appearance Inspection to Ensure That the Steel Pipe Has No Serious Mechanical Damage, Heavy Skin, Cracks and Other Defects.
-
Final Surface Treatment:
Use Shot Blasting Equipment to Further Treat the Outer Surface of the Steel Pipe to Reach Sa2.5 Grade.
-
Induction Heat:
Pre-Heating Treatment Is Carried out to Heat the Steel Pipe to Between 185~235°c to Ensure Good Adhesion Between the Coating and the Surface of the Steel Pipe.
-
FBE Application:
Spraying of Epoxy Powder. The Epoxy Powder Is Evenly Covered on the Surface of the Steel Pipe by Electrostatic Spraying to Form a Tough Anti-Corrosion Layer.
-
Extruded or Spray Applied Copolymer:
During the Gelling Process of the Epoxy Powder Layer, An Adhesive Is Applied to Prepare for the Next Step of Winding the Polyethylene Tape.
-
Extruded Polyethylene:
The Polyethylene Tape Is Wound to Form a Continuous Anti-Corrosion Layer.
-
Quench:
After the Anticorrosion Layer Is Applied, The Pipe Is Cooled with Circulating Water to Ensure That the Anticorrosion Layer Is Fully Cured and Has Stable Properties.
-
Electrical Inspection:
The Edm Test Is Carried out to Check the Quality, Including Thickness, Adhesion, and Other Tests.
-
Stockpile:
The Completed Anti-Corrosion Treated Steel Pipe Is Properly Packaged to Prevent Damage During Transportation and Stored in an Appropriate Environment.
